Motion 3D Text – Diversity Halloween is a visual design project created for Mädchen House, one of Jakarta’s leading nightlife event organizers. As part of their seasonal event lineup, Diversity Halloween served as a unique celebration combining the global festivity of Halloween with the inclusive spirit of diversity. For this project, I was tasked with creating a simple yet impactful 3D motion text to be used as a visual element on the club’s large LED screens, enhancing the immersive atmosphere of the night.
My Approach
Understanding the energy and style of Mädchen House events was key in shaping the creative direction of this project. My approach focused on creating a clean, modern 3D animated title that could complement the overall event visuals without overwhelming the audience. The goal was to craft a motion asset that felt in sync with both the Halloween theme and the club’s high paced, music driven environment.
Concept and Visual Direction
The concept of “Diversity Halloween” represents unity in expression celebrating differences through a common, festive experience. Visually, I translated this into a glowing, dark-themed 3D title animation with smooth transitions and subtle effects. The motion text was designed to feel cinematic and atmospheric, contributing to the mood without distracting from the main event visuals and lighting design.
Design Execution and Tools
Using Adobe After Effects, I created a 3D animated text loop that was optimized for stage screens and projection systems. I prioritized legibility, pacing, and lighting effects that would resonate well in a nightclub setting. The animation was exported in loop ready video format, ensuring seamless playback throughout the event’s duration.
Technical and Environmental Considerations
One of the key challenges in designing motion graphics for club environments is visibility under fluctuating lighting conditions. To address this, I used high-contrast textures and ambient glows, ensuring the text remained clear even during rapid lighting transitions. The animation was tested to ensure smooth playback on various screen resolutions, maintaining its visual integrity and fluidity in a high-energy setting.
Client Collaboration
Close coordination with the Mädchen House visual team was essential to integrate the motion text seamlessly into the event’s visual setup. Through feedback and adjustment rounds, the final piece was aligned with the event’s theme, music set timings, and screen requirements ensuring it served both an aesthetic and functional purpose during the night.
