Video Editing – Mädchen House Vol. 4 Teaser This project presents the creative editing process behind the Mädchen House Vol. 4 Teaser a narrative-style Instagram Reels video designed to introduce Return the House, the fourth installment of the Mädchen House event series. Unlike previous recap-style content, this teaser was produced with a semi-cinematic shooting approach and combined original scripted footage with selected clips from Vol. 3: Where is Home, forming a storyline that symbolically represents the return to a place of emotional belonging. The teaser received strong audience engagement, earning over 25,000 views on Instagram.
My Approach
My approach focused on blending storytelling and atmosphere. I edited the video to follow a loose narrative of someone being “called home,” interweaving cinematic shots with real event footage to create a bridge between volumes. Careful attention was paid to pacing, emotional buildup, and visual symbolism ensuring the teaser communicated more than just a promotion, but an invitation into the evolving narrative world of Mädchen House.
Vision and Innovation
The vision was to elevate teaser content into an emotionally engaging short film. Inspired by themes of return and rediscovery, I used moody lighting, slow transitions, and stylized color grading to reflect the tone of Return the House where the darkness of being lost transforms into warmth and familiarity. The integration of past event clips reinforced continuity while expanding the visual identity of the series.
Identifying Unique Challenges
A key challenge was merging two distinct types of footage: scripted cinematic visuals and high-energy documentary event clips. Ensuring tonal and visual consistency between these two sources was essential in maintaining immersion and emotional resonance.
Resolving Complex Problems
To address this, I color-graded all clips to a cohesive palette of blacks and soft pinks matching the event’s theme. Sound design played a crucial role, with ambient music and subtle effects guiding the emotional flow. I used Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects for editing, incorporating slow-motion, fade-ins, and soft overlays to bridge transitions between film-style shots and live event moments.
Client-Focused Process
The teaser was developed in close alignment with the Mädchen House creative direction. I collaborated with the team to refine the narrative concept, select relevant Vol. 3 moments, and ensure that the teaser not only built excitement but also honored the emotional arc of the event series. Feedback sessions helped shape the pacing, tone, and messaging.
Meeting Industry Needs
The Vol. 4 Teaser marked a creative step forward in short-form event marketing, showing how narrative-driven content can deepen audience engagement and expand brand storytelling. By combining cinematic expression with real event energy, the teaser successfully set the tone for Return the House, reinforced brand identity, and achieved strong digital reach with over 25,000 views on Instagram.
