3D Animation – Mädchen House WIB Teaser This project involved creating a 3D animation teaser for Mädchen House in collaboration with West Class, designed to promote their joint event titled Waktu Indonesia Breakbeat (WIB). Developed as an Instagram Reels video, the teaser was fully animated using Blender, with the goal of visually amplifying the event’s dark, energetic, and atmospheric identity. The final video successfully gained 26K+ views and was positively received by both organizers and their audience.
My Approach
The creative direction focused on interpreting the event’s core theme Waktu Indonesia Breakbeat into a bold and cinematic visual narrative. I built a custom 3D environment filled with signature elements like deep red stormy cloudsand a lightning bolt icon, both symbolizing the raw intensity of breakbeat culture in a stylized, modern format. Despite the technical complexity, I aimed to keep the animation visually digestible and high-impact for Reels viewers.
Vision and Innovation
The vision was to create a visually distinct teaser that stood out on social media while staying true to the tone of the event. The use of dark red clouds represented the heavy atmosphere of the music genre, while the animated lightning symbolbecame the teaser’s focal point a striking representation of energy and chaos. By pushing the limits of Blender within a tight timeline, I was able to innovate both creatively and technically.
Identifying Unique Challenges
A major challenge was the urgent deadline the project needed to be completed within 3 days, whereas similar 3D animation work typically takes a full week. Additionally, translating abstract themes like "breakbeat energy" into a compelling visual story required clarity in concept development and design execution.
Resolving Complex Problems
To meet the tight deadline without compromising quality, I optimized my workflow by using procedural materials, modular animation assets, and pre-composed lighting rigs within Blender. I focused on clean motion timing, fog simulation, and visual pacing to ensure the animation remained smooth and impactful. Despite the pressure, the project was completed on time and exceeded expectations.
Client-Focused Process
Working closely with the Mädchen House and West Class teams, I ensured the animation met their vision and aesthetic direction. The feedback process was streamlined due to the time constraints, with rapid iteration and real-time decision-making. Their satisfaction with the outcome affirmed the value of quick, adaptive creativity under pressure.
Meeting Industry Needs
This project exemplifies how 3D animation can be an effective tool for brand-driven storytelling in music and nightlife events. It also highlights the importance of flexibility and speed in creative production, especially for fast-paced promotional cycles. With over 26,000 views, the teaser proved successful in capturing attention and building excitement leading up to the event.
