Event Design – WestClass Vol. 1 "Class or Clash" This project marked the creative direction for the inaugural event by WestClass, titled Class or Clash, held as the debut of the newly established event organizer. The title plays on the duality of “class” as both a symbolic reference to the West campus origin and the possibility of a cultural clash a space where different energies and styles meet. The theme signified a starting point, setting the foundation for the WestClass brand identity.

My Approach

My approach was to reintroduce the essence of WestClass with a visually engaging concept that captured both playfulness and unity. I selected a color palette of light purple and white, representing joy, connection, and a youthful beginning. The creative assets were designed to reflect a sense of new energy welcoming attendees to be part of something fresh and expressive.

Vision and Innovation

The vision was to develop a signature look for WestClass Vol. 1 that felt both friendly and dynamic. I aimed to portray “class” as a shared space rather than a hierarchy turning it into an open platform for creativity and celebration. The use of soft lighting and glowing visuals gave the event a vibrant but welcoming tone, reinforcing the brand’s youthful and inclusive image.

Identifying Unique Challenges

Launching a new event brand meant defining everything from scratch tone, look, and feel. The main challenge was to establish brand clarity in a single event, while also ensuring visual consistency across all mediums from print to digital.

Resolving Complex Problems

To address this, I developed a unified visual system including motion backdrop design, ticket visuals, promotional flyers, social media content, and table price posters. Lighting was also tailored to match the soft purple hues, reinforcing mood and atmosphere throughout the event. Each creative element was crafted to cohesively reflect the identity of WestClass while maximizing audience appeal.

Client-Focused Process

As a foundational volume, Class or Clash required close alignment with the WestClass team. I collaborated from the ground up to build a visual identity that could grow with the brand. Regular feedback sessions were key to refining the direction and establishing a creative standard for future volumes.

Meeting Industry Needs

The success of Class or Clash established WestClass as a promising newcomer in Jakarta’s event scene. The creative execution helped position the brand as a youth-centric, forward-thinking organizer, capable of delivering events that are not only entertaining but also visually and conceptually coherent. This first volume laid the groundwork for the identity of WestClass as a fresh, creative force in nightlife branding.
